Going Back In Time

There are so many things I would of done differently if I could, but so many things I would have encouraged myself to do as well. When I first started college 18 years ago I was just going through the motions, I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life or what career area I wanted to go into. Therefore, I wasted a lot of time and money just taking random classes, deciding that they were not interesting and dropping them at the last minute. I would have told myself to just finish them, see it out. Even if the classes weren't interesting, if I was doing well in them  then there would be no reason not to finish the classes out. Instead, I would get stressed and just drop all the classes I was taking for the semester.  I don't have much advise for my First day at ASU self, as I am only finishing up my second semester. I have learned to work on assignments ahead of time, if I am able and how to support myself and not lean on others for assistance. I am sure come next year I...

My College Experience

I am an older scholar so my plans have changed rapidly throughout all the years. My parents drilled into me that I would go to college right out of high school. So like a good daughter, I did go to community college right out of high school with a plan to get a business degree and go into accounting. I only chose this because my dad was an accountant and I saw he made decent money so why not. I literally had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Then, I ended up getting pregnant so I quit college, and went to work. Several years later I found myself working for an environmental consultant and becoming really interested in the analytical side of things which required me to get my biology degree if I really wanted to take things to the next level. Well I went back to Glendale Community College and started working on getting my associates degree.
