My College Experience
I am an older scholar so my plans have changed rapidly throughout all the years. My parents drilled into me that I would go to college right out of high school. So like a good daughter, I did go to community college right out of high school with a plan to get a business degree and go into accounting. I only chose this because my dad was an accountant and I saw he made decent money so why not. I literally had no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
Then, I ended up getting pregnant so I quit college, and went to work. Several years later I found myself working for an environmental consultant and becoming really interested in the analytical side of things which required me to get my biology degree if I really wanted to take things to the next level.
Well I went back to Glendale Community College and started working on getting my associates degree. However, I took my time, it took me probably three years plus the credits I had in the past to get my associates degree. However, once I got to ASU I decided to really bunker down and just plow through the courses to get get my degree. No more putting my life on hold and taking my time, it is time to get this dream.
